I was a paralegal in two english law firms the job was very challenging and interesting however I was exploited doing the job of the qualified solicitors but paid peanuts. The job drove me to depression

I ended up as a paralegal accidentally, not knowing I was going to be a paralegal until the day I started the job. Now the lawyers squeeze out every bit of brain power I have to do their dirty work.

i want to be a paralegal. can you tell me the nature of the job. is it worth it?

Well, as I said I became one accidentally. I was told by the firm owner that I will be working on his website but on my first day it was revealed that website was part of his long term plan for me. As a paralegal I am responsible for talking with clients, getting their information, telling them to bring documents needed to prove what they are saying is true. Then filling out all the relative forms through a software and filing them with the Government/ courts. Not too hard but extremely boring.

i am interested in law as a second career. would you recommend i start as a paralegal if i wanted to one day become a lawyer or should i not bother and just go straight for law?
